Yes, even with Hybrid Apps / Cross-platform we depend on a store, but every time the Browser responds to critical user characteristics and even more so when I don't like the idea of seeing a Pinrest publication and getting a blessed prompt to download the App.

This continuing with native development is a temporary dream, it definitely does not end up being more productive for the same reason that each OS wants things their way.
